Successful Run at Challenge Cup
February 16th, 2010

The Warner Hockey School came within one win of the final at the 2010 Challenge Cup in Washington, DC.  The girls opened the weekend with victories over The NAHA WinterHawks (5-4) and The Colorado Selects (7-6 in Shoot-out).  The two wins gave the Warriors the JWHL Championship as well as a birth in the A side portion of the Challenge Cup.  They continued their undefeated play with a 2-2 tie vs. The Minnesota Thoroughbreds and a 7-1 victory over The Calgary Edge in the quarterfinal game.  In the semi-final the girls battled The Pursuit of Excellence from Kelowna, BC.  The game was close but the Warriors came up short losing 3-2.  With the loss the girls finished a very respectable 3rd place overall in the tournament.  It was a good showcase of high level female hockey and the girls can be proud of their efforts.
