Mikko Makela
Head Coach/ Director of Hockey
In his third year with Warner Hockey School Mikko will once again perform double duty as Head Coach, and Director of Hockey Operations.
Mikko brings a wealth of hockey knowledge to the program. As a player, Mikko was a two time Olympian and Olympic medalist. Mikko played seven seasons in the NHL, most of them with the New York Islanders. As an administrator and coach, Mikko has worked with the Lethbridge Hurricanes as Head Coach, and Ilves Tampere of the Finnish Junior League as Head Coach and General Manager.
With an awesome line up to work with this season, Mikko is excited to see what the season brings, and how far he can take these players in the expanded JWHL league this season. Mikko lives in Lethbridge with his wife Janice and daughter Sophia.

Chad Jensen
Assistant Coach
Chad begins his fourth year with Warner Hockey School as one of our Assistant Coaches. As well as assisting with the Warriors, Chad is also the high school math teacher for Warner School. Chad has over 10 years of coaching experience and also does video work for the team. Chad lives with his wife Natalie in Lethbridge and both Warner School and Warner Hockey School are lucky to have someone with Chad's dedication and love of the game.

Heather Corliss
Athletic Therapist
Heather joins Warner Hockey School this year as Head Athletic Therapist from the University of Lethbridge, where she worked with the 2009 CIS National Champion Women’s Rugby Team. Heather graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2007, and completed her graduate studies at Mount Royal College in 2008 with an Advanced Certificate of Athletic Therapy. Heather has also completed her Emergency Medical Responder and is a Registered Kinesiologist with the Alberta Kinesiology Association. Over the years, Heather has worked with a number of teams including the SAIT Trojans Women’s Hockey Team, the University of Lethbridge Men’s Hockey Team, and the Calgary Broncos Midget Football Team. In her limited spare time, Heather takes every opportunity to leave the city and head to the mountains, where her love for scrambling and the peaceful outdoors can be satisfied.
