Akane, also known as "AK" will be starting her third year playing with Warner Hockey School. She plays defense and is entering grade 12. Akane was born and raised in Banff, AB where her parents Manabu and Yoko, and brother Ryo, whom she says influenced her to play hockey all reside. Akane's hobbies include volleyball, playing the piano, and reading. Akane says that being a member of the WHS program has helped her to develop individually as well as a team player, and to develop many life skills. Her academic and hockey dreams for the future include receiving a scholarship to a University and also playing with Canada's National Team.
